Korneel Vandewiele, ECCP, MSc
Time for our last speaker!
Last but definitely not least, BelSECT is proud to announce that our President, Korneel Vandewiele will be presenting at our symposium!
Korneel is a well known Belgian adult and pediatric perfusionist, President of BelSECT and doctoral researcher affiliated with the University Hospital of Ghent and Ghent University. He specializes in extracorporeal circulation in cardiac surgery and intensive care, with a focus on extracorporeal circulation (ECC), mechanical support and related hemostasis and perfusion techniques.
Mr. Vandewiele has contributed to several scientific publications, including studies on retrograde autologous priming, protamine dosing and heparin detection.
At our symposium he will discuss with us about his PhD research: “Lions of Perfusion or Monkeys Guessing? Optimizing Cannula Selection in MICS” where Korneel is researching the optimal cannula for cardiac surgery.
